Ô Fâya Farm is Ilona Hunkeler’s estate in Aven, in the heart of the Swiss Valais. She produces natural altitude wines, organically farmed.
The estate
Originally from Lucerne, Ilona Hunkeler used to grow apricots. She started making wine in 2019, first buying grapes and borrowing friends’ facilities, before creating her own cellar in the old vaulted cellars of the village of Aven and planting her own vines. The name « Ô Fâya » comes from the Lower Valais dialect and means « sheep »: the estate’s sheep maintain the green areas and support biodiversity. Viticulture is certified organic, without any pesticides, and the wines are natural, vinified with indigenous yeasts and minimal inputs. The labels are drawn by Ilona Hunkeler herself, sometimes with her daughter Emma.

The estate is located in Valais, Switzerland. Ilona Hunkeler is based in Aven, in the municipality of Conthey. The wines are sold under the Valais AOC and Vin de Pays Suisse appellations.
