Felix Scherer et Michael Zimmer
Scherer & Zimmer is a small winery based in Bad Krozingen, in the Markgräflerland area of southern Baden, founded by Felix Scherer and Michael Zimmer after completing their winemaking training and studies in Geisenheim. The estate practices certified organic and biodynamic farming, working with varieties including Gutedel, Spätburgunder, Grauburgunder, Weissburgunder and Sauvignon Blanc. Their approach combines classic Markgräflerland varieties with deliberately low-intervention and sometimes experimental winemaking. Spontaneous fermentation, ageing in tank or older barrels, unfiltered bottling and pétillant naturel are among the methods used depending on the wine. Scherer & Zimmer stands out for its contemporary interpretation of Baden while remaining closely connected to the traditional grape varieties and viticultural identity of the region.
