Nikolas Juretic

Originally from Cormons, in Friuli’s Collio region, Nikolas Juretic grew up in a winegrowing family before studying art and oenology. After gaining experience in several cellars, he spent around twelve years working with Simonit & Sirch, specialists in respectful vine pruning, an experience that deeply shaped his approach to viticulture. In 2018, he began making wine from his family’s vineyards in a small cellar in Cormons. Today, he farms approximately 2 to 3 hectares across the Montona, Pradis and Bosc di Sot crus, planted mainly with Friulano, Malvasia Istriana and Ribolla Gialla on the Collio’s characteristic ponca soils. Some vines are around 115 years old. His farming follows organic, biodynamic and permaculture principles. In the cellar, fermentations are spontaneous, with wines made primarily in concrete and wood, followed by ageing on the lees.
