Niklas Rückrich

Niklas Rückrich represents the fourth generation of a winemaking family based in Eckelsheim, in northwestern Rheinhessen. He began producing wine under his own name in 2021, following viticultural training in Rheinhessen, studies at Geisenheim, and internships with producers including Wagner-Stempel, Pranzegg and Ziereisen. The family estate now covers around 14 hectares, certified organic since 2025, on soils shaped by the volcanic porphyry characteristic of Eckelsheim. Rückrich works mainly with Riesling, Silvaner, Chardonnay and Burgundian varieties. Grapes are harvested by hand, fermentations are spontaneous, and wines undergo extended lees ageing in used barrels or stainless steel, depending on the cuvée. They are bottled unfined and unfiltered, with little or no added sulfur. His approach combines organic farming, minimal intervention in the cellar and a focus on precision in this cool sector of Rheinhessen.
