Christian Söll
NeueHeimat is an 11-hectare estate in Gamlitz, Südsteiermark, currently run by Christian Söll. Söll, the winemaker, has been involved in the project since 2015, when the former Goedwinemakers venture began evolving into what is now NeueHeimat. The vineyards are concentrated notably around Sernauberg, where conglomerate soils are prominent, and have been certified organic since 2020. The estate has been undergoing official Demeter conversion since 2024. Particular attention is given to biodiversity, cover crops and soil health. In the cellar, the approach favours spontaneous fermentation with vineyard yeasts, generally less than 30 mg/l of sulphur, no fining and, whenever possible, no filtration.
