Catherine et Jean-Michel Chardigny
Chardigny is a family estate based in Leynes, at the meeting point of the Mâconnais and Beaujolais. The family has grown vines here since the 18th century, while estate winemaking began in 1995 with Catherine and Jean-Michel Chardigny. Today, their three sons, Pierre-Maxime, Jean-Baptiste and Victor-Emmanuel, are involved in the estate, with Victor-Emmanuel trained as an oenologist. The domaine covers around 20 hectares, mainly across Saint-Véran, Saint-Amour, Bourgogne and Beaujolais-Villages. The entire vineyard is certified organic, with biodynamic and agroecological practices also used to encourage healthy soils and the vine’s natural resilience. In the cellar, the approach is low-intervention, with indigenous yeast fermentations and ageing in stainless steel, concrete or barrel depending on the wine.
